Name: Andrew Stallabrass
Constituency: MYP Cotswolds / Stroud
Age: 16

Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I am very passionate about improving public transport in my constituency. I also think that university fees are too high and hopefully with constant campaigning these fees can be lowered.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

Public transport is an issue that is always raised by my friends. I think many young people are unhappy about the cost and infrequent nature of rural services.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I would like to raise awareness of UKYP and hopefully improve services in our local area. I hope I can repay the people who voted for me by raising their opinions and getting their ‘voice’ heard.

What is your future career ambition?

In the future I would like to become a sports journalist or a lawyer. However this roll may persuade me to pursue a career in politics.

Which public figure to you most admire and why?

I most admire Nelson Mandela for the way he battled to overcome oppression and always stood by his principles despite the persecution he suffered.

If there was one message you could send to the Government, what would it be?

I would tell them to listen to young peoples views more and try to promote younger MPs who can relate to a younger audience as the average age of MPs is 51.
