Countdown to Voting Begins!

All information, candidates addresses, ballot papers and boxes have now been delivered to polling stations across the county and the countdown to the opportunity for young people to vote for their representative begins.

Polling station coordinators will now prepare for the vote to take place between Monday, 1 - Wednesday, 3 February.

Young people can vote for the person they wish to become MYP and they should consider the Candidates Address carefully prior to casting their vote! Remember the most important thing about all Candidates is that they want to represent you and all Candidates have demonstrated this by standing for election.

The Candidate in each constituency, Gloucester/Forest, Cotswolds/Stroud or Cheltenham/Tewkesbury who receives the most votes will become the next MYP and the Candidate who receives the second highest number of votes will become the Deputy MYP.

All votes will be collected at the end of next week and then the count will take place on Monday, 8 February, prior to the Results being announced at the Elections Results Event on the evening of Thursday, 11 February within the Council Chamber, Shire Hall, Gloucester.

The Results Event will also celebrate the achievements of the outgoing MYPs and give them recognition for their contribution to raising the voices of young people throughout Gloucestershire.

This is a really exciting time, as we are soon to discover who the 2010-11 MYPs will be ...?
