Although it only feels like a very short time since the completion of the last Elections, the planning stages for the 2011 Elections are just beginning and we need your help!
We need to recruit as many youth projects and schools as possible to become Polling Stations providing young people between the ages of 11-18 years with the opportunity to vote for their representative.
Youth Projects and Schools who register as a Polling Station will receive support and advice from CJ Phelps, Youth Engagement Worker and in addition to coordinating a Polling Station, those who register will be asked to promote the opportunity to young people to become the next Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) via raising awareness through assemblies etc.
The current Members of Youth Parliament are doing a fantastic job working on main priorities across the county (Positive Activities for Young People, Transport and Road Safety) and within their local constituencies, but we need to begin thinking about who replaces them at the end of their term at the end of January 2011.
To register as a Polling Station and receive the Polling Station Information Pack (which can also be downloaded here), please email CJ Phelps, Youth Engagement Worker on info@ukypglos.co.uk by Friday, 15th October.
