MYPs met for the first time, since the newly confirmed six, on Saturday, 27 February at the Wilderness Centre, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire to complete an introduction / team building day.
MYPs spent the morning reviewing the role of MYP and looking at ways in which they represent young people as well as completing a variety of team building activities that included problem solving, climbing wall and crate stacking. The mornings activities really helped the group to consider the role and responsibilities it brings and to really get to know each other and each others personal strengths.
During the afternoon, MYPs completed a mapping exercise of their constituencies, considered issues affecting young people in each of the constituencies and started work to compile the Gloucestershire 2010-11 Manifesto. Further infromation regarding the manifesto will be released on its completion.
